    I just found you yesterday and would love to read Run fat bitch run! I’m new to running & just did c25k week 7, day – I’m loving it 🙂 I think Ruths fave run was in Noosa.

    Hiya. Am loving the book!Have started to get into running in the last 3 weeks and doing circuit training twice a week.Am really enjoying it but now my jeans are getting too tight in the thighs!!!Am starting to despair!!Any tips??Thanks.Helen

      perhaps your thighs have toned up and the extra muscle is making your jeans feel tighter. This often happens when you start to exercise properly, it fels as though you are actually getting bigger. this won’t last long. stick with your training, watch what you are eating and you will start to see the results you long for very soon. plenty of water remember and steer clear of junk…

    Hi! I loved reading your book but at over 300lbs, I do wonder if i can do this program. I am thinking at my weight and fitness level, that at the end of the 8 week plan outlined in the book, I will still be walking and just get discouraged. Any words of advice? Is there anyone else who has started with ALOT of weight to lose?

      You would have nothing to feel discouraged by if you were able to walk that programme and stick to it for 8 weeks – that would be an amazing achievement. You must see a proper doctor first, to rule out any other possible medical issues. Bring the book, a.d talk to your doctor about your plan and he/she may offer some very useful dietary advice to accompany your exercise programme. Provided your doc gives you the ok (and I am confident that your doctor will, absent any other health concerns) then there is no reason why you shouldnt get outside walking your circuit. However, with that much excess weight it really is going to be slowly slowly very very slowly. But it will happen and you will be able to run, you just may have to walk for several months first and get a fair amount of that weight shifted before you run which would put enormous strain on your body at the moment and could be quite dangerous. Getting outside and walking though will be the best medicine for you and I am here to support you through every step. YOU CAN DO THIS and I am already very proud of you for taking the brave steps of buying and reading the book and getting in touch with me. So, see your doc, and with a green light from him/her, start walking. And we will take it slowly from there. Good luck. May the grit be with you x

    Favourite running place is Noosa!! Beautiful place!! :o)

    I have been attempting to lose weight for years!! Stop / start / stop / start!! Have a real problem with focusing and continuing!! Need to find my motivation and keep on going!!

    Hoping to discover my own inner grit and, literally, just run with it!! With any luck, I will soon be reading your book!! :o)

    Favourite Australian running spot was Noosa!! :o)

    Hoping to read the book soon (pick me! pick me!! haha) and find some motivation and inner self belief (both seriously lacking!!!) and gain fitness / lose kilo’s permanently!!!

    Oh darn. Just discovered your book and blog and missed the competition!

    I never thought I could run, but made it my 30th b’day ambition after my fourth baby was born last year. It’s good to learn new things.

    And as far as I can tell, the favourite run was in Noosa.
