Michelle gets going

Michelle read Angela Wilson’s post which kickstarted the motivaiton meltdown page and was immediately re-inspired or *re-grittified* to get back out there and run.  This is what she wrote:

Ruth Field,  I am beginning to wonder that you might be stalking me.

Today is the 5th day that I will not have been running because I’ve had a traumatic week (no one has died I’ve just been a bit busy, it’s cold outside and I’m pathetic!)

You keep popping up and telling why I have to slap myself around the face and put my trainers on tonight and run before I return back to my lardarse pre-running state.

Thank you for my reminder!

I also had a boyfriend who told me that I wouldn’t be able to do the Great North Run. In 2006 I completed my first after this incident.  I did it again in 2007 but had some hip problems.  The fat me married him in 2009!

I forgot to carry on (hence the fat me!) but he kindly left me a copy of your article from the Times (probably because I was ‘gonna start again’- 3 stone lighter I am now much happy and knocked 15 minutes off my GNR time this year.  I can only be thankful for both of you as I have three ‘angels’ who keep popping up to remind me to run! Number One is my inner grit bitch.

    “You can’t keep reading it, at some stage you’re gonna have to Run” Inner Bitch.
    And so I began my first run 2 weeks ago and I’m still running… just me, my fat ass and the open road.
